Dressing up the Skeleton
Julie's blog is participating in the Coffin Hop from October 24 - 31, 2012.

That skeleton you've got in your closet?

Time to dress it up!

Tell me what the skeleton in your closet would wear if you let it out...

in 20 words or less.

(this is excellent therapy, by the way)

Here's my attempt at poetry as an example:

Wednesday's mourning day
Where skeleton thinks back
On how it could've been or would've been
So it dresses in black...

Leave your answer (and email address so I can get in touch with you if you're the winner) in the comment section any time from October 24 through October 31, 2012.

Winners will be announced Friday, November 2!

Prizes for the three most creatively dressed closet skeletons are as follows:

First Prize

Sassy Cat Ring Game, bloody hand and blood spatter window decals, voodoo doll pen, skeleton ornament, an electronic copy of my short story "Suburban Gnome Invasion" and a copy of Dark Eclipse #16 e-magazine (with my short story "Skinny")

Second and Third Prizes

All of the above with the exception of the Sassy Cat Ring Game.

Win books and spooky prizes from over 100 horror authors October 24-31, 2012 during the Coffin Hop Horror Author Blog Tour!

Follow the link and hop on over to the next participant's terrifying blog for a chance to win more Halloween prizes!

For my skeleton's dressing
There would be no messing
He would hang his head in vain
For that terrible walk of shame

Decked out in red feathers,
my skeleton weathers
the chilliest days without fear

My skeleton would wear a little black dress and black Prada stilettos, of course.

Since she stepped out of her skin to reveal her true nature--the only thing she would put on is her Medal of courage like the Cowardly Lion so she can stay brave and fearless :)

My skeleton would wear a fancy cap and tip top hat
Getting ready to recite Shakespeare on the dark. ;)

Depends.

Mondays are fun days so little Miss Bony would go wearing nothing but glitter.

On Tuesday she'd settle for jeans and a hoodie (if she can find one that would fit her.)

On Wednesday, my skelly would show off her belly because she'd dress like Britney Spears.

Now, Thursdays are iffy but if she feels spiffy she'd wear rhinestone bandoliers.

Fridays are late nights and perfect for date frights so she'd wear a Grim Reaper's robe.

Saturdays she's off so she's head out to shop so she can get a whole new wardrobe.

:)

My skeleton's frown
Would turn upside down
After dressing like a clown
And going out on the town!

Happy Hopping, Julie =]

Nothing, she would be bone naked.

My skeleton has worn a pirate outfit complete with a tricorn hat most years, but this year I think he's going to don a wizard's chapeau and nothing else.

For my skeleton, I'd go sexy and put it in leather chaps, and make sure it was carrying a whip in black stiletto boots:)

Happy Haunting!!!!

A bit on the shy side
His bone(s) he would hide
So heading out there
He would don pink underwear

Hoppy Hopping.

The closet is bloody
The boots in it are muddy
I'd take my skeleton for a walk
But he'd much prefer to stalk.

She'd wear layers and layers of flower print dresses,
her skull all done up in a bow.

Hiding in the dark
Secretive from the sun
Bones rattle and spin
To keep this skeleton whole and tethered
Would mean black masking tape
under a black leather cat suit
long black boots and black fedora

Hi Julie
Great contest. Very creative!
Here's to another fantastic hop!

My skeleton would probably don a kilt with some high leather boots :)

He tried to wear repentance
like a sash
but all the ashes fell
between his bones;
He's naked as sin
and guilt is the rope
that hangs him.
